问:请详细谈谈光湖普瑞照明设计。
Q: Please let us know more about Puri Lighting Design.
 
答:普瑞照明设计注册于2008年,2011年正式投入运营,是一家合伙人制设计事务所。经过两年多的发展,目前发展为十几人的规模。在北京、昆明、天津、重庆、沈阳等各主要城市都有完成或正在实施的项目。同时和很多大型的成熟的地产商建立了战略合作关系。在自己创办设计事务所前曾服务于两家主要的跨国商业灯光设计公司,这几家公司可能更注重前期的概念设计,但出于成本的压力在后期实施阶段会有断层,所以导致有些设计完成后的效果留有遗憾。我们几个合伙人希望能在最大可控范围内实现设计诉求,于是就希望成立一家专业的灯光设计工作室。我们希望能够从专业的设计角度出发,从设计到施工全都能有完整的控制,认真投入的去做好每一个项目。我们的理想是希望每一个作品能够得到好的口碑,做一个专业的手艺人,目标做一个中小型专业的精品设计事务所。
 
A: Puri Lighting Design, founded in 2008 and formally operated from 2011, is a partnership firm now with stuff number of about 20 people. We have many completed as well as on-going projects in most of the major cities nationwide, such as projects in Beijing, Kunming, Tianjin Chongqing and Shenyang. We have also establish some strategic partnerships with some reputable  property developers. I use to work with two overseas lighting consulting firms before setting up Puri Lighting, Most of them put most focus on the earlier concept design stage but the site control process sometimes was a bit overlooked as a concern from the budget control perspective. It did cause some regrets.. We would like to apply an one-chain process from earlier design to site control in regards to accomplish the design into reality as much as possible. By the time we setting up Puri Lighting, we are looking for a vision of sustainable and boutique lighting design pilot in the field. 
 
问:在您眼中,文化建筑和商业建筑的照明设计有什么不同点?
Q: In your view, what are the differences of lighting design between cultural buildings and commercial buildings?
 
答:文化建筑更需要注重它的社会性,对人产生直接的影响。从照明设计来讲,我们怎样去表达这个建筑对社会积极的影响,怎样去表达这个建筑或是室内陈列的庄严性和展示性,从而影响人的体验感,需要考虑的更全面一些。而商业建筑更侧重它的商业价值以及在城市中的展示性,怎样吸引人流,怎样创造更多的商业价值,手法可能更个性更夸张一些。
 
A: Cultural buildings are socially functional with direct impacts on public. For the lighting design of those buildings, we should make a comprehensive consideration on perfectly showing their majestic images and positive social impacts. While commercial buildings are more value-oriented, of which the lighting design should be eye-catching with relatively more exaggerative elements to promote the achievement of commercial value.
 
问:建筑、景观、室内等照明设计有哪些相同之处和不同之处?
Q: What are the similarities and differences of lighting design in architecture, landscape architecture and interior decoration?
 
答:这要从照明设计它本身的特征为出发点来讲,照明设计不管是针对建筑外立面、景观还是室内都是需要很高配合度的一个工作,需要和建筑师以及室内设计师紧密配合,帮助他们实现设计诉求。
 
共同点:很显然的一个共同点是我们最终都是为使用者服务,实现美观跟舒适度的统一。另外,照明师设计师需要与其他专业设计师密切的配合,帮助建筑师和室内设计师实现他们的设计理想。虽然看起来灯光设计师在整个设计链条上只能充当配角,但我们却甘于作这个总是能发光的配角。
 
不同点:要从建筑、景观、室内这三个专业对空间表现得不同点来讲。建筑设计是创造一个整体的建筑形体,照明设计在为建筑外立面服务的时候也是要表达突出这个建筑的整体效果;景观设计是需要创造一个舒适的环境,照明设计在为景观设计服务的时候要从它设计的初衷出发,侧重它的根本理念,那就是环境与室内、外空间及人的感受的融合;室内设计注重表现不同的空间感,营造愉悦的气氛及舒适的体验,不管是酒店、商场,照明设计在为室内设计服务的时候是要表现室内设计对于不同空间功能的诠释。
 
A: Lighting designer requires high sense of cooperation awarenes, with foci of assisting architects and interior designers to support on their designs into reality. 
 
For similarities: 
Lighting design is for the service of one of the obvious similarities is that all kinds of lighting design should achieve a unified appearance with comfort to satisfy users. In addition, lighting designers need close cooperation from architects, landscape architects or interior designers to understand much about the projects so that the completed lighting effect will perfectly show the projects’ magnificence as they are in the daytime. 
 
And the differences come out from various professional characteristics of architecture, landscape architecture and interior fitout. Lighting design applied in façade design should keep with a ballence in between the form and structure; comparatively, the basic goal of landscape design is to create a pleasing outdoor space for public, in which lighting design should serve for its original design concept to create the end users’ comfort ability; while the sense of space is essential in interior fit out to create delightful and easeful atmosphere that lighting design should collaboratively promote well, whatever it is a project of hotel, shopping mall or workplace.
 
问:请谈一谈照明设计在低碳环保方面的技术。
Q: Please talk about the eco-friendly low-carbon technologies of lighting design. 
 
答:我从设计理念和技术层面两部分来回答这个问题。首先从设计理念来谈,首先要考虑到如何最大限度的利用自然光源实现室内子让照明诉求。另外,从节能控制器的应用来说,举个例子,比如说在做办公空间照明设计时,在没有人的办公室或者走廊,要实现灯可以自动关闭,通过人体感应,用控制的方式达到低碳环保节能。其次是从技术层面,实现照明的灯具(也就是光源)主要是为了满足使用者所需环境的光亮度,因此需要合理完美地分配照度。灯具在实现照度的基础上,不产生嘈杂光线和光线反射。如何提高照明效率,不仅要注意灯具的材料选择,还要注意计算灯具的光线散射范围,从而达到满意效果。现代照明设计的趋势在朝着广泛应用更环保更节能的电光源的方向发展,比如说LED光源和太阳能光源的应用,这些光源的碳排量、热排放都非常小。
 
A: Well, I would like to elaborate it in the aspects of design philosophy  and technology. Firstly, lighting design is basically required to be eco-friendly and energy saving in particularly based on a basic understanding of how to maximize the natural light into interior space. At the same time, some energy saving technology in relatively economic cost with sophisticated technics will always been considered primarily. For example, inductive control system is vitally important in the lighting design for office space to turn on or off the lights automatically, so as to create a low-carbon and energy saving environment. Secondly, from the perspective of technology appliance we always put primary consideration for the requirement of illuminance in various functional area which is determined by the difference requirement of end users. How to avoid directed light while satisfying the basic requirement. Meanwhile, the integration of the luminaire selection and the calculation of light spreading range are more determining elements which has much influence for the lighting sustainability. There is a design tendency for more comprehensive application of  the sustainable luminaire. For instance, LED lights are extensively used in lighting design to achieve fewer carbon emissions and heat emissions.
 
问:照明设计中,如何平衡美观和实用这两个元素?
Q: How to keep balance between the aesthetic and practical elements of lighting design?
 
答:这要从设计师和使用者两方面来平衡,还要综合考虑甲方对成本报价的因素。设计师侧重考虑美观,而使用者更多考虑到舒适、实用。举个例子,我们在外加胡同做的一个精品酒店,它是属于老城区的一个四合院的改造,需要改造成五星级的精品酒店。我们在通过光影去表达老北京传统四合院雕梁彩柱上面彩绘的时候怎么样避免对人产生的眩光,这是一个很大的取舍问题。本身四合院的彩绘非常美,我们在和梁、柱子之间的节点选不好的话灯具就会暴露出来,人就会看到灯具,对人就会产生眩光的影响。从设计师的角度我们是希望去表达这个彩绘,在夜晚的时候让它亮起了,从使用者角度来讲需要考虑眩光不会对人眼产生刺眼的影响。我们首先要做的是照这个彩绘,接下来就是考虑两者兼顾,研究节点,怎样把灯具隐藏的很好。这是个成功的案例,兼顾了美观和实用。
 
A: Comprehensively it depends on the coordination between designers and users, also on the cost the client could afford. Usually, designers may take aesthetic element into account, while users may prefer lightings more practical. Take one of our projects for instance: it is a five-star boutique hotel reconstructed from a traditional quadrangle residence in Waijia Hutong in Beijing. How to avoid glare was really a challenge for us when we created light and shadow to highlight the exquisite colored drawings on carved beams and painted pillars where we should carefully hidden the lights and set reasonable distances between lights so that the lighting would not discomfort visitors. For designers, we hope to full show the aesthetics of colored drawings to visitors at night; but for visitors, to avoid glare is also very important. Finally, we kept well balance of the two by effectively avoiding glare based on perfectly highlight the colored drawings. It is really a successful project to have kept well balance between aesthetic and functional elements.
 
问:作为一名女性设计师,您认为工作中最大的挑战是什么?您认为女性所特有的敏感及审美观对您的设计工作带来了哪些帮助?
Q: As a female designer, what do you think is the greatest challenge at work? While what advantages do you take from the specific sensitivity and aesthetic view of female at work?
 
答:从女性独有的特质来讲,女性性格很细腻、考虑问题比较深入,但有时候容易陷入局部,我认为最大的挑战是需要不停的在整体和局部,理性和情感之间调整,纠结。但同时这又是一把双刃剑,它是我最大的挑战也是我最大的优势。在很多时候女性考虑问题很细致,可以解决很多细部的工作,这可能是男性做不到的。怎么样利用和协调好这把双刃剑才是最重要的。
另外,作为一个女性,平衡家庭生活和工作就更加成为巨大的挑战。
 
A: Females are always particularly scrupulous and meticulous so that would be easily caught into thinking with many details. What challenge me most is how to well coordinate the thoughts between entirety and details, rationality and sensibility, which I regard as a double-edged sword in the meantime for it is greatest challenge for me but also my greatest advantage. Females are most often better at detailed jobs than males for their scrupulousness, and how to well use the double-edged sword is very important for us females.
Moreover, female designers are always facing a challenge of balancing work and family.
 
问:您心中的八零后设计师应该是什么样的?
Q: What do you think the Post-’80 designers should be in your mind?
 
答:我觉得近几年是八零后设计师渐渐成熟的年纪,是他们迈向成功重要的几年。设计师需要项目的积累,从青涩到成熟。八零后设计师应该是具有传统的因素及特质,他们经历过时间的历练,考虑问题比较全面、慎重,责任感和使命感更强。因为八零后成长的年代刚好是经历改革开放,多元化的信息交流是他们具备国际化的视野,同时也是在不断的竞争和挑战中成长起来的一代,具备备前瞻性和时代感。
另外,我本人作为一个80后的母亲设计师,希望自己的为理想奋斗的工作态度也能为孩子树立一个正确的人生观。
 
A: I think it is now the best time for Post-’80 designers to earn their success for they are gradually entering the mature age of their careers. Generally, Post-’80 designers are thoughtful, cautious, serious and responsible influenced by relatively traditional educations when teenagers. And they were growing up in a period of information explosion with rapid social development by the Reform and Opening-up Policy, which make them more skillful and open-minded to deal with many work opportunities abroad or the cooperation with foreign workmates. They are a generation with their own foresight to keep pace with the times.And, as a post-80’s mum, I hope my son will also been lead up a correct philosophy which influenced by the path I am fighting for my career and dream.
 
问:如果让您推荐八零后新锐设计师,您会推荐谁?可以详细介绍下么?
Q: Who do you think is an excellent Post-’80 designer as you know? Would you please do a recommendation?
 
答:我会推荐一位来自香港的设计师,他在Woods Bagot工作,叫Ray Yuen。在他身上能够看到了东西方文化的融合。他本人具备决大多数八零后设计师的特质,创意、有激情,追求设计品质。我们最近和他一起合作在北京的一个地标行总部大楼,他的设计兼顾了前瞻性和传统文化的融合,体现了新一代办公空间灵活、前卫的设计理念。
 
A: Well, I would like to recommend Ray, a vibrant designer from Hong Kong, works at Woods Bagot. He is very serious, responsible and innovative at work, like a traditional craftsman with characteristics of Post-’80 designers. Recently, we cooperate with him to do a project in Beijing, of which his design is forward-looking with a fashionably sense of space.
 
问:请谈一谈当今建筑设计、景观设计行业里的照明设计趋势。
Q: What do you think about the trend of today’s lighting design in architecture and landscape architecture industries?
 
答:照明设计趋势不管相对于建筑设计还是景观设计,人们考虑最多的还是照明与建筑及室内空间的融合,从而实现美观和舒适的和谐统一。同时绿色节能早已成为一种设计趋势。现代社会人们对生活空间的关注度在提高,对设计的要求也在提高。近年来,照明专项设计作为专业程度更高的顾问类别已经越来越越受到城市管理者、开发商和设计师的重视。因为照明设计本身在对于城市景观的贡献和提高使用者舒适度等方面都有巨大影响。另外我觉得从专业的角度来讲,照明设计会更追求方便、简易,更好把握、更好控制的施工方法。比如说我们在给古建筑做照明设计的时候,灯具的安装可能会破坏一些有历史感的瓦砾、梁、柱等等,未来照明设计可能更多的要考虑安装问题、节点问题,做到固定不破坏,同时运用最简单的安装方式达到最好的照明效果。
 
A: Whatever in architecture or landscape architecture, the trend of today’s lighting design should firstly be eco-friendly and energy-efficient, and then it also should focus on the well integration of aesthetic and practical elements, which are generally required by public for their living standard is increasingly improved. And professionally speaking, our industry will tend to more simple and easy-operating lighting design. For example, our design for ancient buildings at present may damage the historic rubbles, beams or pillars, on which we will do some improvement to fix lights well by related technologies, and to achieve best completed lighting effect by most simple methods.

胡芳,生于北京。自幼学习绘画,有较好的艺术修养。大学专修环境艺术专业。毕业后一直从事照明设计工作,在创办自己的生计工作室前曾多年就职于美国最著名的照明设计公司BPI。她对于美学如何与技术工程相结合的理解较为深厚。喜欢不同的文化冲击,并融会贯通。2009年取得中国人民大学美学哲学硕士学位,从更深的层面理解艺术与美。擅长艺术类照明和商业照明设计,例如,酒店、商场、会所等项目。
 
Profile
Hu Fang was born in Beijing. She started to learn painting when she was a little girl. She studied art design as a major during her university years, and worked in this field after graduating. Hu Fang has a keen sense of combining both aesthetic and technological aspects well in her work, also enjoys learning the differences among different cultures and processes. She obtained her master degree in Philosophy of Aesthetics in 2009 as a means of understanding art and design more thoroughly. And now she is specialized in artistic lighting and commercial lighting design, including hotel, retail and club house.
