建筑设计
 
Kezmarska小屋是ATELIER 8000建筑事务所从全球设计竞赛中脱颖而出的方案。小屋坐落在斯洛伐克的高塔特拉山之上,被设计为一个简单的立方体,以一个角为基点垂直向上,呈现出简约的外形,目的在于为使用者营造一种轻盈而随性的感觉。立方体与其所处的景观令人联想到冰川消退后留下的古怪物体。从远方望去,山峰的环境里,锋利的建筑边缘融入了周边岩石群的整个轮廓里,很自然地与场地的景观融为一体。
 
得益于项目的方位,从任何一个视点都能看到建筑外立面的三边,放大了光影效果,与附近岩石群的光影效果也极为相似。窗户和光伏板的玻璃表面连同透光的镀金板共同描绘了一幅微光场地图景——就像在山间湖泊和冰雪消融的表面所观赏到的闪光与折射光。建筑材料是落叶松制作的胶合木。铝质外立面由正方形板块组合而成。外立面各个组成部件的规格为1×1米,有利于装卸和场地运输。
 
各个楼层的功能
 
地下室设计了雪上摩托车库、员工入口、滑雪仓库、烘干室、靴子和背包室、餐厅盥洗室、技术房;一楼设计了餐厅和露台;二楼和三楼是客房;阁楼为紧急医护室和沉思房。
 
能源
 
建筑的每个技术配套设施都旨在达成节能可持续的目标。能源的生产和消耗方面,小屋可以称之为被动式建筑。小屋的外形与朝向能够使其最大化地利用太阳能。外立面产能的那部分面朝南方和东方,直接面对阳光的照射。因此,通过光伏板、太阳能集热器以及透过窗户的太阳辐射热,太阳能得到充分地吸收。
 
得益于非常低的热损耗,小屋的供暖全部依靠空气分配系统。或新鲜的或流通的空气通过空气操作单元被加热,热量回收最低为85%。热能累积用于热水器的加热。休息室里,木材燃烧的壁炉用于热能累积的供暖。
 
管控:一个高效复杂的管控系统帮助管控单个设备的总体运营,这是建立在各种收集的数据的基础之上(气候数据,包括天气预报、小屋占有率、温度感应器的数据和消耗的参数、热能累积的情况等),同时还结合了在最近的未来对小屋使用的预测。

Architecture
 
Atelier 8000 participated in the international architectural competition for a new Kežmarská chata (the Kezmarska Hut) in the High Tatras. The competition entry developed by Atelier 8000 proposes a succinct shape of a simple cube which is seated on one of its vertices and aims at inducing a feeling of lightness and randomness in the observer. Due to its position within the landscape the cuboid evokes an erratic block left behind by the retreating glacier. In the context of mountain peaks the sharp edges of the building merge into the outline of the neighbouring rocks when viewed from distance and thus naturally join the landscape of the site.
 
Thanks to the positioning of the construction, three sides of the facade are visible from any viewing point, which amplifies the play of light and shadows – the same effect which can be observed on the neighbouring rocks. The glass surfaces of windows and photovoltaic panels along with the light transparency of the metal plating complete the whole picture of the site with a touch of glimmer – just like the glints and reflections which can be observed on the surface of a mountain lake or on thawing ice. The construction is built with glued laminated timber beams made from larch wood. The aluminium facade system is designed in the form of square panels. The dimensions of the individual elements of the facade are designed in the module of 1x1m to facilitate easy handling and transport to the building site.

Underground floor – garage for the snowmobile, staff entrance, ski storage, drying room, boots + backpacks, restaurant restrooms, technologies

attic – sleeping accommodation for emergency needs, meditation room
 
Energy
 
The design of the individual technical facilities of the building aims at meeting the demanding targets of energy sustainability of the hut. In terms of its energy generation and consumption the hut has been developed as a passive building. The shape and orientation of the hut are adapted to utilise the solar energy to the maximum possible extent. The parts of the facade with energy generation units are oriented southwards and eastwards and face the sunrays directly. Therefore, the solar energy is fully utilised via the photovoltaic panels, thermal solar collectors, and also by direct solar gains through the glazing of the windows.
 
Thanks to the very low thermal losses the heating of the hut is fully ensured by the air distribution systems. The air (fresh, circulating) is heated by an air handling unit with the heat recovery of min. 85%. The thermal energy is accumulated in heating water tanks. The lounge features a wood-burning fireplace for atmosphere-inducing heating with the possibility of heat accumulation.
 
Regulation: A highly sophisticated regulation system facilitates optimum management of the operation of individual devices based on the collected data (climatic data incl. forecasts, occupancy rate of the hut, data from temperature sensors and consumption meters, state of the accumulation etc.) as well as predictions of utilisation of the hut in the nearest future.

Profile
 
ATELIER 8000 has been established in 1990 by architects Martin Krupauer and  Jiri Stritecky as a result of their desire to build - implement construction projects with the maximum level of creative and work freedom and responsibility to clients - investors. This desire, belief about the architect as the person responsible to the client for the entire project from the design until implementation, lead to establishment of a team capable of professional management of the entire project.
 
ATELIER 8000 works on projects worth tens to hundreds million crowns. Using its own resources it provides the architectonic, construction - engineering and operating elements of the designing works. It cooperates with number of professionals on long term basis with the objective to ensure continuity of work, relationships and success of the project in all its phases. The creative and managerial experience results from designing of variety of buildings. Construction projects are implemented even under the most demanding spatial, structural-technical, territorial and commercial conditions.
 
Currently ATELIER 8000 operates two branch offices in Ceske Budejovice and Prague. The authorized representative is architect Martin Krupauer - owner of the company. ATELIER 8000 employs about 40 qualified professionals - architects, civil engineers, TZB engineer - coordinator, structural engineer, experts in project management, project inspection personnel, office staff and assistants.
