“海洋智者”是温哥华水族馆的环保项目,旨在为消费者普及可持续海鲜的知识。从带有“海洋智者”标识的餐馆菜单和集市中,消费者将学会辨别和挑选有利于海洋环保的海鲜品类。“海洋智者”项目在加拿大有3 100个合作伙伴,消费者能够很方便地知道哪些海鲜是可持续的,从而确保海洋的健康发展,造福子孙后代。
 
该项目直接与餐厅、市场、食品服务商和供应商合作,实时提供与可持续海鲜有关的最新科学信息,帮助他们制定有利于海洋环保的购买选项。这些选项会以醒目的“海洋智者”标识出现在菜单上,消费者可以很快下单并做出有利于海洋环保的海鲜选择。
 
该项目还在苹果手机中推出一款易于使用的应用,为消费者提供全加拿大3 100多家海洋智者餐厅、市场和供应商网点的信息,给出了有利于海洋环保的海鲜选项综合清单。海洋智者苹果手机的这款应用不断地更新海洋环保海鲜选项和海洋智者合作方的信息。
 
“海洋智者”为消费者推荐的海鲜选项是基于以下四个标准:
1. 渔业中丰产有余的鱼类
2. 现有研究表明鱼类是属于综合规划的一部分
3. 鱼类被打捞的时候不容易误捕到其他濒危种类
4. 打捞鱼群的时候不会破坏海洋生境

Ocean Wise is a Vancouver Aquarium conservation program that educates and empowers consumers about the issues surrounding sustainable seafood. The Ocean Wise symbol on restaurant menus and in marketplaces allows consumers to identify and choose ocean-friendly seafood items. With over 3,100 Ocean Wise partner locations across Canada, Ocean Wise makes it easy for consumers to make sustainable seafood choices that ensure the health of our oceans for generations to come. 
 
The Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program works directly with restaurants, markets, food services and suppliers to ensure they have the most current scientific information regarding sustainable seafood and to help them make ocean-friendly buying decisions. The options are highlighted on their menus and display cases with the Ocean Wise symbol, making it easier for consumers to make ocean-friendly seafood choices. 
 
Ocean Wise recently launched the Ocean Wise iPhone application—an easy-to-use app that provides consumers with over 3,100 Ocean Wise restaurants, markets and supplier venues from coast to coast, and a comprehensive list of ocean-friendly seafood options. The Ocean Wise iPhone app is continuously updated with ocean-friendly seafood options and Ocean Wise partners. 
 
Ocean Wise choices are species that are: 
1. Abundant and resilient to fishing pressure 
2. Managed as part of a comprehensive plan based on current research 
3. Harvested in ways that limit bycatch of other, possibly endangered species 
4. Harvested in ways that limit damage to ocean habitats.
